Dear Brother I received your letter some time a go and have neglected to aswer it longer than I intended One reason was that I had nothing to write about. I have no news that will interest you as you will soon see It has been raining all day I have not been out any. I hear you all are making nothing this year I am very sorry to hear it. We have had rain a plenty in the city I don’t know how it has been in the country about here.

The wether has been extreenly hot here this week but I suppos it will be cooler after this rain. I have not been out of the city any ways yet I went over to New Ark the other day to see John Springs. Grant Spring is her now or was the other day. John says he is going home next week. I had quite a time shoing Grant aroud he is a funny case. I am geting very tiard of the city if I had money plenty I would take a round up to Niagra but I have to content myself here for the present. I should lik to be home now to get some good apples & peaches & some

Good Cider to drink. How is your baby geting along has it got the Hooping Cough yet. I would like to see you all now see you nursing the baby. You are don having any more pleasure now like we had when we Cept batchalors Hall but I suppos you think it is a very happy change. If you had not had a babie before I came home I would have brought you one home for good many of the old women want Me to take there babies when I go to deliver them. When they have twins they ask me what in the name of God they will do with them. I have had very good helth since I came here. I have not

a Meal of Vittles since I came here on acount of sickness My love to Maggy & all the rest of them. Tell Nancy & John howdy I have not received a letter from Eliza since I came here.
