ACRL Conference

Last week I attended the conference of the major professional society for academic librarians, the Association of College and Research Libraries.  I’ve been to every one of their conferences, which are usually held every other year, since 1986.  While there, I ran into a Davidson alum, Tammy Ivins, who was thoroughly enjoying the conference and finding much of relevance to her work. Updates and helpful hints

Update on our Swank Motion Pictures movie contract:  We put 50 streaming movies on reserve during the fall semester.  Faculty and student reviews of the service have been positive, citing the ease and flexibility of showing films or having students watch on their own.  If you are using a feature film in your course, check with Jean Coates about Swank!  She can tell you if your film is in the Swank catalog and set up the Moodle link for you. Document Delivery

FACULTY AND STUDENTS … Don’t have the time or inclination to run to the Library to photocopy that journal article or book chapter you need?  Never fear, Document Delivery is here! When you discover that perfect item you need for your class or research, all you have to do is fill out an Interlibrary Loan Request, just as you would if we didn’t own the item.
