It won’t be surprising that with the College’s Presbyterian heritage, the Davidson College Library owns a number of Bibles and other religious volumes, many of which are a part of the Rare Book Room collections. Various editions, languages and translations are represented, from medieval manuscript leaves to complete Bibles, some lavishly illustrated. Here are some of the most interesting.
The Bible translated according to the Ebrew and Greeke, and conferred with the best translations in diuers languages. London, Christopher Barker, 1583. 
The Geneva version, often referred to as the “Breeches Bible” because of the translation of Genesis 3:7…”and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves breeches.”
The Holy Bible: containing the Old Testament and the New / newly translated out of the original tongues; and the former translations diligently compared and reuised, by His Maiesties speciall commandment. Imprinted at London: By Robert Barker, 1614. 
An early “King James” Bible.
