Welcome Sarah!

Please welcome Sarah Crissinger, our newest research librarian at Davidson. Sarah started working with the Information Literacy team in mid-July. Originally from Ohio, Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Women’s Studies from Wright State University in Dayton. She just graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Master’s of Science in Library and Information Science in May.  While at Illinois, she held graduate assistantships in the reference and information literacy departments where she created workshops and tutorials on library resources and scholarly communication issues. As an Information Literacy Librarian at Davidson, she will help students with research by teaching library sessions and having research consultations. Sarah is also very interested in open access publishing, open educational resources, and alternative metrics and how these relate to digital scholarship and challenging information privilege at Davidson.

Sarah enjoys reading, blogging, and walking her little Yorkie, Wrigley, around the Davidson area. She has already explored Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Asheville, and parts of the Appalachian Mountains. Since Sarah has only ever lived in the Midwest, she hopes to venture to a new part of North Carolina or the south once every month.

Sarah is excited about the opportunity to meet students, faculty, and staff and become more involved at Davidson. Feel free to stop by her office to say hello!
